Stopping in to see the Denver Art Museum’s Yves Saint Laurent exhibit was the highlight of a recent cross country road trip.
I’m a bit of a novice when it comes to both costume exhibitions and Yves Saint Laurent so I went in with no preconceived notions about what I might witness. Regardless of this though, I was blown away, not only by the artistry on display but also by how carefully, thoughtfully and imaginatively the presentation had been curated.
Having never been a huge fan of YSL, I was nonetheless awed by his character, his story and his exemplary work. This might be an unpopular statement but my favorite of the designs on display were three dresses taken from his time designing for Dior. However, the finale ballroom collection was epic and awe inspiring as one could ask for though.
